image The WorldWide Telescope is a computer program created by Microsoft, expected to be released to public in Spring 2008, which allows its users to view outer space, much like Stellarium. It was announced at the the TED Conference in Monterey. Users are able to pan around outer space and zoom as far in to any one area as the data will allow. Images are taken from the Hubble Space Telescope and approximately ten earth bound telescopes. It is possible to view areas in three modes: normal, infrared and non-visible light. The software utilizes Microsoft’s Visual Experience Engine technologies to function.
